Phased Array
Phased array testing is one of the most advanced methods in the industry. It is the same technology used in medical imaging and we figure if it is safe enough and detailed enough to identify problems in the human body, then it is safe enough for your industrial machinery.
Without opening up any of your expensive equipment, phased array testing allows us to send beams of sound through your machinery. While the phased array equipment is stationary, the beam it emits is like an electronically controlled flashlight, quickly scanning all of your machinery. The way the sound bounces back to the computer creates an image which details sections of the equipment and whether or not there are any flaws present. It is a thorough and fast way to identify problems such as:
- corrosion
- wall thickness changes
- weak welds
- cracks in materials
