Repairing or Replacing Gear Box Cases and Housings
Gearbox housings aren’t just protective cases for gears to spin inside of, they also provide structure, support and protection. Damaged gear box housings and cases can compromise the gears spinning inside of them. A crack that lets dust, dirt or water in, or lubricant and small parts out can cause wear on all of the internal machinery. A dented or bent casing can throw off the alignment of the gears or lock them in place, when torque is applied, the parts may break under the stress of the lock up.
If you have a damaged housing, don’t wait for a catastrophic failure, MMI can repair, replace or fabricate a new one to fit your needs.
